The most requests I ever received for new volumes of books was for the
Outside Sudoku book and for the
Flower Sudoku book.
Those two books are filled with variants of sudoku variants puzzles. There are 11 reviews of those two books on Amazon.
10 of those reviews are 5/5 stars!
Well, it didn’t take a lot of figuring and I published a new book with these puzzles. This time, you get 2 in 1! Both Flower Sudokus and Outside Sudokus inside one book. But, wait. It’s not really 2 in 1. It’s more like 15 in 1! Why? Because you get all of these puzzles:
- Classic Flower and Outside Sudoku
- Diagonal Flower and Outside Sudoku
- Jigsaw Flower and Outside Sudoku
- Consecutive Flower and Outside Sudoku
- Non-Consecutive Flower and Outside Sudoku
- Odd-Even Flower and Outside Sudoku
Hmm, that’s only 6*2 = 12 variants.
But wait! That’s not all! There are a few more varieties:
- Hyper Outside Sudoku (Windoku)
- Outside Twodoku (Gattai-2)
- and Flower Killer Sudoku
So, altogether, 15 VARIANTS OF SUDOKU puzzles, 10 of each, making it total 150 puzzles. What are you waiting for?
The first two volumes are here:
Take your time and read the reviews of those two puzzle books:

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE this book! Can’t wait for the next one! February 1, 2012
By J. Murphy
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I’ve been doing the variant sudoku puzzles for years. I too became bored with the basic square and needed more of a challenge. Having done DJape’s Very Twisted Jigsaw books I fell in love with jigsaw puzzles until the outside puzzle. It was discouraging at first then I wanted more and was thrilled to see a whole book of not only all outside puzzles, but the combination of all the variants. It’s the ultimate challenge, outside variants! Just when your brain figures out one, the next variant challenges your brain differently. I highly recommend this book for all of you that like the variants and want the extra challenge. When will the next one come out? Meanwhile I will be purchasing this book again! Love, love this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great puzzle book, as usual from DJApe November 15, 2011
By L. Divringi
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I have been a regular buyer of DJApe’s sudoku puzzle books. I love his books because the puzzles start out with medium difficulty and progress to really difficult. I find most other sudoku puzzle books too easy/boring. But DJApe’s puzzle books never disappoint.

5.0 out of 5 stars You Really Should Try this Type of Sudoku December 11, 2011
By janet
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I had already purchased and enjoyed DJAPE’s “Very twisted Sudoku”, so I thought I would try this book, even though I had no idea what OUTSIDE SUDOKU would be. At first I used a pencil and erased a lot and then gradually got through almost every puzzle. I found this a refreshing variant from standard Sudoku and I can hardly wait for a second edition.
If you enjoy a challenge, then you will love this book.

This is a great puzzle book for anyone who loves number puzzles, and loves a challenge. There are tons of easy sudoku puzzle books out there, but if you are anything like me they are incredibly boring. Not these – DJAPE is the best at delivering challenging puzzles and new puzzle variations.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sudoku gets even more fun!, August 24, 2012
By Victoria (Northern Virginia, USA) – See all my reviews
This review is from: Outside Sudoku and its variants (Paperback)
Could DJAPE really outdo himself and come up with puzzles even MORE fun than he already had? Yes! This book of puzzles is so fun, you’ll drop everything else and enjoy these sudoku variants more than you thought possible! There are no “cons” to this book, unless you count all the stuff you won’t be doing while you’re busy with solving these puzzles. The easy ones will seem hard at first, until you re-wire your brain to understand that the clues on the side ONLY go in one of the first 3 boxes of that row or column. Soon you’ll get the hang of it and start ripping through all the puzzles. When you wake up from this awesome book with nothing left to do but erase the puzzles and start over, you’ll start pressuring DJAPE for JUST ONE MORE BOOK!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hard to Master but still trying, November 2, 2011

This review is from: Outside Sudoku and its variants (Paperback)
I have purchased many copies of this book because I love the outside sudoku concept but have yet to master as much as I would like. Since I like to work with fresh pages, I prefer to purchase a new copy about every 1 to 2 months. If you are very logic minded and really want to push those boundaries some this book is a great one for that. I have Parkinsons Disease and I’m in my 60’s. Working one of these puzzles without peeking in the back, lets me know I’m keeping my brain actively functioning! This is part of my “brain training homework” so necessary for so many.

3.0 out of 5 stars New twist on old puzzle, April 19, 2010
By Rockman (Bronx,NY) – See all my reviews
This review is from: Outside Sudoku and its variants (Paperback)
This book has new twists and variants on an old puzzle. They will make you think for a while, I like the new variants to keep sudoku fresh, but at the end of the day, it is still sudoku, which is getting to be boring and played out.

How very unsettling – I had to reorganise my brain cells to attempt this new variant. But after much practice, it has turned out to be great fun! I’m glad I persisted. As always, great quality paper and clear instructions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Flower Power! October 8, 2008
By Princess Amy
Format:Paperback
The “Flower” layout for Sudoku puzzles is creative and challenging. Essentially, it is 5 Sudoku puzzles in one, and usually none can be solved individually without working back & forth between all 5 puzzles. The puzzles come in a number of fascinating varieties, from original puzzle rules to odd/even, non-consecutive, killer, diagonal and others.
The puzzles are consistently rated for difficulty, and there are several puzzles at the different levels. “Easy” is not too easy to be enjoyable by an advanced solver who just wants a quick chalenge. And the IQ and Insane puzzles are at an unbelievably difficult level, yet they can be solved with skill and lots of patience.
My favorites are the non-consecutive and killer varieties, but I have enjoyed completing every puzzle in this book and plan to start over with a new copy. Thank you, djape, for a very enjoyable book of puzzles.
5.0 out of 5 stars A great challange October 20, 2011
By Dawn M. Hennig
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a great challenge.
It took a bit of getting used to, but once you learn it, you’ll love it! Get a pencil and eraser and plan to spend a couple hours on a puzzle!
I can no longer do a regular sudoku; they’re just too easy!

I am working the Consecutive Sudoku Compendium and have gotten to the Outside Consecutive puzzles, but have no idea what the rules/concept is for working these puzzles. Please advise me so I can continue working the puzzles.
Thank You
